Bud Financials Design
Bud Financials is a data intelligence fintech that offers a range of solutions through its data enrichment capabilities, delivering actionable insights and structured inputs optimised for LLMs in the financial services industry.
Unfortunately, due to privacy restrictions, I can't share most of my work from Bud, but I can assure you that I contributed significantly during my 2.5 years working there. As a Senior Product Designer on the Onboarding team and later a Lead Product Designer overseeing User Research and new product initiatives, I led the design of onboarding features, managed multiple user research projects from product discovery to user testing, created proof of concepts for new products, and spearheaded initiatives to optimise the design team’s workflow and elevate design quality across the company’s products.
Below are some key highlights of my work during this time.
Onboarding team
Conducted discovery research to identify client challenges, providing insights to the Onboarding and Client Service teams to develop solutions that reduce time to value.
Designed the content hierarchy and user experience for the new Developer Hub as part of efforts to streamline onboarding.
Led a full redesign of the Developer Hub, not only improving the interface but also introducing new features to enhance the overall experience.
Measured success through client NPS scores, time from contract to go-live, and direct client feedback.
User Research and New Product Initiatives
Led and oversaw multiple research projects, including new product discovery, user testing, proof-of-concept validation, and feedback gathering.
Designed multiple proof-of-concept solutions, leading to the successful launch of two new products and securing new client partnerships.
Design Team Leadership and Management:
Line-managed a User Researcher, supporting their growth from Junior to Mid-Weight within a year.
Mentored two Product Designers, providing guidance on design best practices and career development.
Collaborated with the VP of Product to define a Design Career Progression Framework, enabling clearer growth paths for designers.
Initiated and led the development of a Global Design System, ensuring consistency across multiple products, improving collaboration, and reducing design and development time.
Enhanced the design team’s workflow and processes, introducing more structured design reviews and cross-functional collaboration, improving design quality and promoting user research.
